Most African professionals on LinkedIn are invisible. Not because they lack skill or experience, but because they are using the platform the way it was described to them rather than the way it actually works. The advice that circulates in local career groups and university workshops is usually something like: fill out your profile completely, connect with people in your field, and post occasionally. That is not a strategy. It is a setup for posting into the void for six months and concluding that LinkedIn does not work for people from your region.

The portfolio question comes up the same way for a lot of African professionals. You have real skills. You have done real work. But when you look at what you have to show an international client or employer, there is a gap between what you know you can do and what you can actually point to. That gap is not a skills problem. It is a documentation and positioning problem. And it is entirely fixable.
